A Beginner’s Guide To… ABBA!


Prior to the release of Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, ‘Fernando‘ was one of ABBA’s lesser-known hits, hiding in the shadows of the obvious classics. However, it gave the group their third UK No.1 and signaled the start of an international love affair with Swedish pop. Anni-Frid ‘Frida’ Lyngstad first recorded the song in Swedish for her solo album ‘Frida Ensam‘ in 1975, before the group recorded the English version in 1976. The song has never appeared on an ABBA studio album, only greatest hits compilations.
