The Fall: Every Album Reviewed (Part One) | No I’m Not Having A Crisis!

So that’s a week. Much can be made of Mark E. Smith’s input but the band as a whole really are brilliant and Hex… and Wonderful… felt the most musically accomplished. I must admit this has been far more pleasurable than I expected. It doesn’t feel relentlessly The Fall, to only listen to The Fall.

I’m hearing new jokes, observations and cool phrases barked and screamed with each listen and the tight-wound music never outstays its welcome. The language, performance and poetry feels like a ball of yarn between Mark E Smith’s pissed up claws. I feel a bit like that yarn. This has, so far, been a trip. Bring on Week Two!
